“The things you do for yourself are gone when you are gone, but the things you do for others remain as your legacy.”
- Kalu Ndukwe Kalu
As a Penn Stater, I was overwhelmed by the amount of opportunities that Penn State offered to students when I first started school. But out of all of them, I knew that I wanted to support THON the most.
THON™ is a 46 hour, no sitting, no sleeping, dance marathon that is regarded as the largest student philanthropy in the world. We hope that one day, instead of dancing for those who are suffering, we dance in celebration of a cure for pediatric cancer.
In my professional business fraternity, Phi Beta Lambda (PBL), we are one of the largest general organizations contributing to THON, where was raised over $110k in 2023 alone, our best year yet. Even more importantly, we are paired with two great families, the Hoglunds and the Harmons, to help support their children who are currently or have previously fought against childhood cancer.
As a recently elected THON chair for PBL, I am so excited to continue supporting THON and its mission. I know that my contributions will not only help make an impact on our families and those supported by our cause, but will live on beyond my years attending Penn State.
That kind of direct impact and support drives me to do my best work, and I look forward to do the same in a professional capacity when I start to work full-time in a potential career.

The THON head picture is of me at THON 2024, where I shaved "FTK" (For the Kids) into the side of my head since I achieve my DonorDrive goal!
The other THON group picture is of myself with my business fraternity's THON dancers and some other members of the Phi Beta Lambda. The picture was sourced by Anna McGrath.
